Dr. Michael Burnham
Dr. Michael Burnham has wanted to be an oral surgeon since his teens. As a high school sophomore, when he thought his resume wouldn’t be impressive enough to join the Air Force Academy, he investigated dentistry as a career on the advice of his father. In his further exploration of the field, Dr. Burnham met an oral surgeon he was able to shadow for several days. This led to summers helping at the practice—and the rest is history.
A self-described “people person,” Dr. Burnham loves talking to and helping people. He says the broad spectrum of patients he sees each day keeps his work fresh.
He has carefully created a state-of-the-art oral surgery practice to provide patients with the most exceptional, comfortable and caring oral surgery possible. His hand-selected helps to deliver the quality and compassion that he believes every patient deserves. Working together, they attempt to improve the lives of every person with whom they have the privilege to interact. To Dr. Burnham and his team, oral surgery is more than a profession; it’s their purpose. In this warm, welcoming environment, patients feel safe and confident. They know they are in good hands.
Dr. Burnham grew up in the Southwest in the Four Corners area and graduated from Loma Linda School of Dentistry. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he also completed a six-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Burnham shares his love of the field with other dental professionals as the director for the 5280 Study Club and the Phoenix Study Club. These clubs provide continuing education for Dr. Burnham and his colleagues.
Dr. Burnham and his team volunteer for the Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM), a large-scale dental clinic that is held annually in a Colorado community. The COMOM mission is to provide quality dental services, at no cost, to individuals of all ages who cannot afford and access dental care; eliminating dental pain, promoting oral health, creating smiles, and providing oral health education.
In his spare time, Dr. Burnham enjoys skiing with his family and being involved in his children’s activities.
