How can we help you?
At Burnham Oral Surgery, we welcome your questions. Patients who ask questions tend to be more active participants in their care. This frequently leads to better outcomes after treatment, which is something we all want!
There are some questions we hear quite often, and we have included them here for your convenience. If your question is not answered here, we invite you to give us a call or use the online form on our Contact page.
We do work with most insurance companies. We participate with Delta Premier insurance and we also accept Cigna. If you have specific questions about how your insurance works at our office, please contact us and we will gladly address your questions.
As long as we are able to verify your eligibility and plan coverage, we will have you pay your estimated coinsurance at the time services are rendered and submit a claim on your behalf for the balance. Be sure to bring your insurance card along to your first appointment.
We accept checks and will process them electronically. We also take credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. If smaller payments fit better into your budget, we can discuss payment via third-party financing with CareCredit or Compassionate Care.
Feel free to ask us any questions you might have about payment options—or any other concerns—when you call to make your appointment. We don’t want financial concerns to prevent you from getting the treatment you need, so we will work with you to come up with a plan for payment. Oral surgery is not something that can be put off—and we don’t want you to put your oral health at risk by doing so.
Your consultation appointment is a comprehensive evaluation and explanation of your diagnosis and treatment options. We also review your medical history in detail and answer any questions you have regarding your treatment in our office. This appointment also gives you the opportunity to meet our team and develop a comfortable working relationship.
Yes, there is a charge for your consultation with Dr. Burnham and Dr. Stearns. The consultation fee is $155.
We will reserve anywhere from 40 to 70 minutes just for you. This includes meeting with the doctors to discuss your medical history and the planned treatment as well as a panoramic x-ray. If your procedure involves IV sedation, we will also conduct a thorough physical examination at this time.
We will go over any paperwork from your general dentist or physician as well as ask you questions about your overall health, whether you are taking any medications, and if you have any known health conditions.
We design our consultations to give us plenty of time to ensure that you are comfortable with the proposed treatment. We can talk about what you can expect before, during, and after the procedure. We will go over what you can expect regarding healing times and address any concerns or questions you might have.
If you have questions about payment options, we can go over those as well as talk about your insurance coverage for the procedure.
It’s helpful to bring along a list of questions you have written down so you don’t forget anything. We want you to leave our office feeling completely at ease that you will be under the best possible care!
Your first visit to our office is strictly a consultation to discuss your diagnosis and recommend treatment options. Your procedure will be scheduled after this initial appointment.
At the consultation, we’ll go over your medical history, discuss any health issues you might have, medications you might be taking, and other health considerations we should consider. We will go over a proposed treatment plan. There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions so you are completely comfortable with your procedure as well as the recovery period.
We will conduct an examination as well as take panoramic x-rays. If your procedure involves IV sedation, we will also conduct a physical examination. We will also go over payment options at this time, and if you have any questions about insurance, we will do our best to answer those.
You can expect this appointment to take anywhere from 40 to 70 minutes, so please be sure to allow plenty of time. Please be sure that any patients who are under the age of 18 are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The initial consultation is your opportunity to get to know our welcoming team so you will feel comfortable once you are under our care.
An important part of our mission is making sure high-quality care is possible for our patients by offering several payment options. We accept cash, check, and most major credit cards.
We realize that some of our patients have concerns about paying for treatment, so we will work with you to come up with the best plan for your situation and your budget. Oral surgery can be a daunting prospect, and we want you to focus on regaining your oral health—not being worried about payment.
If you do not have insurance, payment is due on the day of your procedure. We partner with CareCredit and Compassionate Care Financing to provide you with financing options. Both offer budget-friendly, no- and low-cost financing for your medical procedure so you don’t have to delay treatment. Applying is easy, and you can usually find out if you qualify in just a few minutes.
Burnham Oral Surgery is committed to making your experience as simple as possible, and we have a payment portal set up right on our website for your convenience.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are here to help you get the care you need.
Because every situation is unique, it’s not possible to provide a blanket price without knowing the specifics of your case.
We consider many factors when determining the cost of dental implants, including:
- Location of the implant
- Type of implant to be used
- Type of restoration to be used
- Additional treatment needed to provide a successful outcome
- Other health-related considerations
- Insurance coverage
When weighing your options with dental implants, you might be attracted by advertisements of “discounted” dental implant services. The first question you must ask yourself is, "Why they are offering surgical services at a reduced price?" When you have a dental implant placed, you want it done right the first time by an expert oral surgeon who uses state-of-the-art technology. You can save yourself a lot of hassle, time, and money in the end.
Dental implants are not an inexpensive treatment, but they are an investment in the future health of your smile. Dental implants are the best tooth replacement option available because they replace the root of your missing teeth. Not only will you be able to chew comfortably and smile without embarrassment, but you will know that the health of your jawbone is being protected for the future, ensuring your long-term oral health.
