Burnham Oral Surgery
Michael A. Burnham, DDS, MD

Technology is constantly evolving in the dental industry, and Burnham Oral Surgery stays up to date to make sure procedures are more efficient, safe, and comfortable than ever. Here are the ways we incorporate technology into providing the best oral surgical care we can to our patients.

3D Cone-Beam CT Scan

This technology enables us to take crystal-clear, three-dimensional images of the oral and maxillofacial areas.

It gives us better information for planning treatment and is particularly useful in planning for placement of dental implants, enabling us to be more accurate than ever.

Digital Impressions

This cutting-edge technology means we can capture clear, accurate impressions in minutes—without goopy, messy traditional impression materials. With this technology, we can provide our patients with better-fitting restorations and less time in the dental chair.

Digital Records

We now offer our patients the convenience and efficiency of digital records.

Digital records provide our patients with a number of benefits. With no patient records on paper, they are not vulnerable to theft, fire, vandalism, or natural disasters. Errors that occur from hand-transcribing are a thing of the past, so your information is accurate. Digital records are also easy to replicate, so it takes just a few seconds to send them to your general dentist or insurance company.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are faster and safer than traditional x-rays. Easily enlarged, they allow us to see beyond what can be seen by the naked eye. Not having to wait for film development means that they can easily be shared with your general dentist or insurance company, minimizing any treatment delays.

Intraoral Camera

Digital x-rays are essential, but they cannot see every nook and cranny of your mouth. State-of-the-art intraoral cameras, however, can get into those tiny places.

A small dental instrument, these cameras not only give us precise images of your mouth, but we can show you what we are seeing on a monitor. This helps us to better explain recommended treatment.

Panoramic X-rays

Panoramic x-rays add an additional perspective to digital radiographs and intraoral cameras. These machines take a flat image of the entire mouth, which can be studied in one shot. A panoramic x-ray also provides a clear view of your teeth, jaw, temporomandibular joints, and nasal and sinus cavities.

Electric Handpieces

These tools provide more precise pressure and speed during treatment compared to air-powered drills. We can adjust the configurations, providing the patient with a smoother, less jarring experience.

Amenities to Make Your Visit More Comfortable

We’ll take care of you when you’re here to help you feel relaxed and comfortable. You can listen to your favorite music on satellite radio in your treatment room or opt for noise-canceling headphones. We’ll keep you cozy with soft blankets and heated neck pillows.

Whoever accompanies you to your appointment will be able to relax in comfort in our waiting room, which is furnished with a fireplace, TV, and complimentary WiFi. We also have a selection of teas, coffee, and hot chocolate.
